Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located multiple other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the substance was most likely blood from a person.
"There is still no clue as to where it came from; authorities are not yet cognizant of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.
City officials said they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the residents for tips.
A senior political figure commented the vandalism rendered him speechless and required to be solved rapidly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on social media, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a shooter aiming at individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
